Question: In the series that Ravi Subramaniam writes in Nakkeeran titled ‘He & I’ regarding the Sankara Mattham, he has mentioned about your involvement in a particular incident. Is that true?
Answer: That article says that when we published Vaiko’s speech in Thuglak, Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Swamigal called me and enquired about it. This is rubbish. He did not call me, nor did I go there. There was no such conversation. What the approver has said is a total lie.

Q: The Rameswaram Temple Administration refused to accept the donation sent by Kanchi Sankara Mutt. What does this indicate?
A: There are pending cases against the CM, and a few other ministers. But several temples have accepted donations from them. A separate law for the ministers and another one for the Sankaracharya, is not correct/fair.

At the Kanchipuram Sessions Court yesterday [13th April], His Holiness Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal met Sri Sundaresa Iyer and Raghu briefly. Sri Sundaresa Iyer served his Guru by helping the Junior Acharya to affix his thumb impression in the appropriate places in the Court documents. Sri Shankara Mutt devotees also gave prasadhams and spiritual books to Raghu at that time.

He narrated about his month's stay in the Jail. He felt blessed to be arrested because he was able to see and have darshan of Sri Bala Periayva, and help Him. Sri Bala Periyava is having just aval and fruits for Biksha, and never ate any jail food. He told us that Sri Bala Periyava is giving lectures daily in the evening, and it was surprising to see so many prisoners keenly participating; and some of them were well versed in Aanmigam. There is a small Vinayaka statue under an Arasa maram in the complex, and HH was offering prayers there daily. One day, it happened that the prison cooks were taking cooked rice for being served to the inmates. HH wanted them to symbolically offer the food as Neivedyam. The cooks did so, and now, it has become their daily practice.

The observations came from a Bench of Justice N Santosh Hegde and Justice S B Sinha while dealing with a case of alleged dowry death in Kolkata.
The apex court was furious over an article titled "Doomed by Dowry" based
on the interview of the family of deceased in a Bangla magazine when the
application
for the grant of anticipatory bail was disposed by the Calcutta High Court.
Citing the one-sided version of the case in the article, the Bench said "the facts narrated therein are all materials that may be used in the forthcoming trial in this case and we have no hesitation that this type of article appearing in the media would certainly interfere with the administration of justice."
"We deprecate this practice and caution the publisher, editor and the journalist who are responsible for the said articles against indulging in such trial by media when the issue is subjudiced," it said.
The Bench said "other concerned in journalism would take note of this
displeasure expressed by us for interfering with the administration of justice".

More than 30 men & women belonging to this committee came to Thiruvannamalai and got over 50000 signatures from devotees doing Giri Pradhkshnam [a ritual procession around the mountain] on Monday night.
The commitee members said about this movement:
"The Chief Minister is saying that the people of Tamil Nadu have accepted the arrests of the Kanchi Matathipathis. This movement is undertaken in order to prove that that is absolutely wrong,"
Banners with the pictures of Maha Periyavar, Jayendrar and Vijayendrar, reading "Dharma alone will win", have been made in different sizes. We are going to get 10 lakh [1 million] signatures on these banners and then go to Delhi to meet the President and Prime Minister in person to hand over these banners.
