Sankara Jayanthi Celebrations in Ghana

Shankara Jayanthi was celebrated in the Hindu Monastery Temple of Ghana on 21st April in the presence of HH Ghanananda Saraswathi Swamiji. Besides Indian devotees, about 100 Ghanian devotees participated in it praying for the blessings from the Guru Parampara.

The celebrations started at 04:30 pm with Rudrabishekam to Lord Shiva followed by chanting of various Sukthas and Archana to Shankara Bhagavadpadal. HH Ghanananda Swamiji performed the Aarti. Ghanian devotees took part in prayers singing bhajans. Annadhanam was arranged after the celebrations to all the devotees.

13th Aradhana of Mahaswami conducted in Ghana on December 17, 2006

Pranams to Acharyas.

The 13th Aaradhana to Mahaswamigal was conducted at the Hindu Monastery of Africa Temple in Accra, Ghana in the presence of HH Ghanananda Saraswati Swamiji.

Gurunamavali ashtothram was performed followed by chanting of Rudram, Chamakam and other Sukthas. Sri Chandrasekarar Paamalai was also sung.

Annadhanam was arranged on the occasion in the temple. A lot of Ghanian and Indian devotees partcipated praying for the blessings of Guru parampara.

Stall for the Kanchi Cause, Maryland, USA

Devotees of Kanchi in Washington area put up a stall for the Kanchi Cause, at the Diwali Mela that was held in the Washington/Maryland area on Saturday, November 5.
The walls of the hall were decorated with smiling pictures of Sri Periyavaals. The devotees distributed more than 3000 flyers in order to increase the awareness of the Kanchi Mutt. One of the flyers was titled ‘The activities of Kanchi Mutt.’ They also raised some funds by selling devotional CDs, and videos on Puranas and Epics. The chilren did some art work on T-shirts (Om and Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sanakra), made tiny boxes and purses, which they sold as a part of the fund raising effort.
The volunteer devotees felt that their greatest reward was the feeling that they had of being under the benign grace of Sri Periyavaals all day.

Update on the Prayer meeting at Ayodhya Mantapam on 11/11

Sri Perival will not be coming to the prayer meeting at the Ayodhya Mantapam. Devotees
can meet Him and get His blessings on November 10th at Sankaralayam, Spurtank Road, Chetpet, Chennai. Sri Periaval will be arriving here between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm

71st Jayanthi of H H Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal

Along with the weekly prayer, Periava Jayanthi was conducted at No. 63 Cliff Road, Epping- NSW 2121 (Australia) on 23rd July 2005 from 5 p m to 6 p m. Being winter, only few devotees attended the function, which was arranged at a very short notice. After reciting Vishnusahasranamam, Sri Rudram was chanted followed by Hanuman Chalesa, Bhandi Devi Sthothram and Mruthunjaya manthram. Some devotees came late. Dr. M S Ramanathan rendered in the Raga Anandabairavi a newly composed song
“ Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathim Namamyaham” and blessed by Periava, praying the Maha Swamigal. This was followed by a short Bhajan.
