Notice to Tamil Nadu Government in the Sankararaman murder case
http://www.dinamalar.com/2006mar28/court_ind5.aspNew Delhi: On a petition filed by Jayendrar, requesting change of Public Prosecutor, the Supreme Court has ordered the issuance of notice to the Tamil Nadu Government.
Sankararaman murder case is being conducted at Pondicherry. In this case a petition was filed in the Supreme Court, stating that the Public Prosecutor representing the Tamil Nadu Government was acting in a biased manner and that in his place, a counsel from the Pondicherry Government should appear as the Public Prosecutor.
This petition came up for hearing yesterday before a bench consisting of Supreme Court Justices, Arun Kumar and Tarun Chatterjee.
After hearing the petition, the bench ordered the issuance of notice to the Tamil Nadu Government, returnable in two weeks.
The bench also adjourned the case to first week of next month.
