Centennial Celebrations of Kanchi Maha Periava today

Kumbakonam: Centennial celebrations of Kanchi Maha Periwa took place today in Kumbakonam on May 27th in which Kanchi Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal participated.

Yesterday, Kanchi Sri Jayendrar visited the house of G.Rangaswamy Moopanar near the Sundaraperumal Koil. Rangaswamy Moopanar welcomed Acharya into his house. His Holiness distributed shawls and prasad to the people gathered there.

Later a grand welcome was given to Sankaracharya at Thiruvalanchuzhi. After arriving in Kumbakonam, Sankaracharya had darshan of the three jeeva samadhis of three Peetathipathis. Later he inaugurated the photo exhibition of Sri Maha Periava near the Sankara Mutt and blessed the devotees.

Later he stayed at Raja Veda Patasala Gatikasramam in Kamakshi Josiyar Street.
