Kanchipuram: The next hearing of the Shankararaman murder case has been adjourned to the 16th June 2005 by the Chengelpet Judge Akbar Ali.
The Kanchi Shankaracharyas Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and others appeared before the court today. After asking everyone if they had lawyers to represent them, the Judge asked everyone to appear again with their lawyers on 16th June. Because of the presence of the Acharyas, the security in the Court was heavy.
Earlier, there was a delay in producing of Ragu from the Salem central jail. When Ragu was produced before the Judge, Ragu complained that the food that he was being given at the jail is affecting his health because of his stomach problems. The Judge ordered the police to give Ragu wheat food. Ragu was also granted permission to meet with both the Shankaracharyas for a few minutes.
