Shankarcharya case: SC judge wants to withdraw

UNINEW DELHI: Justice BN Srikrishna, presiding judge of the bench of the Supreme Court on Monday told the petitioner pontiff Kanchi Jayanendra Saraswati that he wanted to withdraw from the case due to personal reasons.
The hearing of Kanchi Sankaracharya's petition seeking change of the public prosecutor in the trial of Sankararaman murder case in which Sankaracharya is the main accused was adjourned till may 1 with directions to place the matter before the Chief Justice of India for appropriate directions.
The petitioner is seeking change of government counsel on the ground that counsel's conduct was not fair and it was prejudicial towards the accused.
