May 22, 2007Chennai: SP Premkumar - accused and arrested in the case of abusing army veteran Nallakaman and his son, was dismissed from his post.
Premkumar, who had been sentenced to one month imprisonment in this case, is currently out on anticipatory bail. He also has another case filed against him for inciting Ravi Subramaniam, an approver in the Sankararaman murder case. He has been suspended earlier on account of this case.
While he was under suspension, he was also sentenced to one month imprisonment in the Nallakaman case. The Tamil Nadu government had sent him a notice asking why he should not be dismissed for his unprofessional behaviour.
Premkumar had sent his official reply to this notice. But the reply was found to be unsatisfactory and he was dismissed from his post. The police took the dismissal order to his house last evening. As he was not at home, the police pasted the order on his front door and left.
