Indhu TV channel Inauguration
Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara
Dear devotees,Pranams.
Yesterday (18.05.06) afternoon, Pujyasri Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Sarasvati Swamigal inaugurated the Indhu TV channel at Chennai. In a signigicant function held at Sankaralaya, Swamigal spoke in great detail about the Vedic religion, our ancient dharma and culture and the need for preserving them.
Swamigal observed that the Vedic religion, called Hinduism now, was not created by any particular human being. It is birthless and therefore has no end also. No power on earth can destroy it. Because of lack of care and attention of the people, it may suffer set-backs now and then. But it is only like some clouds hiding the Sun. A wind may bring some clouds to hide the Sun but another wind would remove the cloud and the Sun's brightness becomes clear again. Like that whenever the Hinduism faces a challenge, some great Mahatma appears on the scene and restores it to its original glory.
Another important thing is, many people are under the wrong impression that the Hinduism is other-worldly. But the truth is that the Hinduism lays down healthy principles and practices for proper and happy life here. Its concern is proper evolution and development of all living beings.
Today we find that unity among the Hindus is lacking. The division of society has been only for proper division of functions among the people, in common interest. The functions may differ but the common thread of Hindu unity should not be affected. For the Hindus the fundamental principles have been clearly spelt out in the Periya Puranam. There have been Siva bhaktas from Andhanar to Nandhanar. The statues of all of them are worshipped in the Siva temples without any difference. Similarly The Azhwars also have emerged from all sections of the society. All of us should draw lessons from the Periya Puranam and live unitedly.
Swamigal gave the example of the habit of saying 'suprabhatam' to self everyday morning. Brahma, Vishnu and Siva, and the navagrahas were remembered when getting up from the bed and a specific prayer used to be offered for being blessed with a happy and prosperous day for self. This practice is not known at all these days. Swamigal observed, "At least when the British were here, they developed the practice of saying 'Good Morning'. Now it is also not there."
What we understand should be put to practice. We should work for realizing our objectives. The carelessness and lack of attention have resulted in serious disasters in the history of Hinduism. For spreading knowledge of our religious ideas and practices, a powerful media is the need of the day.Swamigal inaugurated the Indhu TV channel and blessed the effort as very timely and significant.
Pujyasri Swamigal also remembered a similar effort. He mentioned about the international English monthly magazine Nitya Kalyan brought out under the auspices of Sri Kanchi Mutt and appealed to all the devotees to subscribe for it and support the mission and make it successful.
Sri Subramaniam Swami, Sri Ela.Ganesan, Sri Vedantham, Sri Rama Gopalan, Sri Mani and several other dignitaries spoke on the need for united efforts of the Hindus to protect and preserve their religious interests; and wished success for the new Indu TV channel.
Sri T Ravindra who has been playing a vital role in orgnizing the Indhu TV channel thanked Swamigal for his blessings. He mentioned that the inspiration and encouragement he has been receiving from Swamigal was great and he would strain every nerve for the succss of the new TV channel, dedicated to the Hinduism and make it an institution to flourish for centuries. It was clear that he has taken this mission with full commitment.
With Periyaval's blessings, in accordance with his command, a very significant step has been taken.
Nitya Kalyan the magazine and the Indhu TV channel, both have several things in common. Both of them have born out of the specific plan and direction of Pujyasri Acharyal. Both of them are committed to spreading knowledge on Vedic Heritage, Devotional Literature, True Values of Life and Principles of Self Development. Both aim at bringing to light the invaluable treasure of our Vedic Heritage; and also their universal character. The basic spirit of wishing well for all is the foundation of Hinduism.
It is for the devotees and all religious minded persons to follow the lead given by Pujyasri Swamigal and devotedly work for success of his schemes.
