‘Hindu TV’ from June 1st
Chennai, May19: A new television channel called ‘Hindu TV’ has been launched. This TV channel will broadcast only programs related Hindu religion, culture, practices and religious discourses. The television channel was inaugurated today by Kanchi Sri Jayendrar at Sankaralayam in Chetpat, Chennai.
During the inauguration, he said,
“The newspapers, magazines and TV channels do not communicate Hindu related news accurately to the general public. There is no channel in Tamil, similar to the one in Hindi, to broadcast and educate Hindu religious practices. Even though one or two channels have Hinduism related programs, they are not comprehensive.
This is the reason for starting a Hindu TV. The programs broadcast in this channel will include the Thevaram, the Thiruvachakam and stories from the Peria Puranam. Religious discourses and music will also be broadcast. A few devotees have gotten together and started this channel. This is an opportunity for all to watch and learn good habits and practices.”Hindu TV producer Ravindran announced that the channel will be available from June 1st. Astrologer Surya Narayana Namboodri was also honored in this ceremony and was awarded the title ‘Jyoti Tantra Asthana Vidwan’.
