Kanchipuram, March 20, 2005:

The Kanchi Acharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal came to the forest bungalow on Saturday afternoon to affix His thumb impression as per the conditions set by the Courts while granting the anticipatory bail.

The Acharya had earlier obtained anticipatory bails in the Tirukottiyur Madhavan assault case and in the Ravi Subramaniam intimidation case at the Principal Sessions Court, Kanchipuram and Chennai High Court respectively.

Every Saturday afternoon, the Acharya is required to sign at the forest bungalow regarding the Madhavan case and at Siva Kanchi police station regarding the Ravi Subramaniam case.

Today, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal arrived at the forest bungalow at around 2.10 pm in the Mutt van with the devotees. After the devotees got down from the van at the entrance of the bungalow, the Acharya and His lawyer Mr. A. Shanmugam went inside the bungalow in the van.

After the Acharya affixed his thumb impression at the required registers, He started back to the Kalavai Mutt at around 2.25 pm.

The media people were keen on taking a photograph of Sri Acharya. But since His Holiness didn’t get down from the van, no one was able to take a photograph of Him.
