Kalavai: Devotees are visiting the Kalavai Shankara Mutt in huge numbers to get a darshan of both the Shankaracharyas staying there.

A few days back, the bail conditions of the Junior Acharya Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal were relaxed by the Chennai High Court. This enabled the Junior Acharya to visit the Kalavai Shankara Mutt two days back.

The Senior Acharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal has been staying at Kalavai for the past three months. With the arrival of the Junior Seer, both are able to jointly conduct the different Poojas.

Yesterday, huge number of devotees visited the Kalavai Mutt to seek the blessings of the Acharyas. The Acharyas conducted the Chandra Moulishwarar Pooja together. The Tripura Sundari Amman Pooja and Vasantha Navarathri Pooja were also conducted. This was followed by the special Poojas on account of the Tamil New Year. Several thousands of devotees took part in these Poojas. All the devotees were blessed by both the Acharyas.

The Shankara Mutt officials revealed that the Junior Acharya will continue his stay at the Kalavai Mutt. The Senior Acharya is also planning to visit several Holy places like Rameshwaram. Arrangements are being made for this presently, they added.

Also, it has been announced that all the Poojas and other social service activities that were conducted at the Kanchipuram Shankara Mutt will be continued at the Kalavai Mutt. The Shankaracharyas are planning to stay at the Kalavai Mutt till the completion of the current court cases. Because of this announcement, the security has been tightened at the Kalavai Mutt. Several additional State and Central police personnel have also been pressed into service.

The presence of huge number of devotees at Kalavai has made the atmosphere at Kalavai Mutt very lively.
