Kanchipuram, April 14th: The Junior Shankaracharya Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal came to the Kalavai Shankara Mutt yesterday evening after being present at the Kanchipuram Sessions Court.

On Tuesday [12th April], the Chennai High Court had relaxed the bail conditions on the Junior Acharya allowing him to travel and stay outside Chennai city limits. Following this, the Junior Acharya has now come to Kalavai Shankara Mutt where the Senior Acharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal has been staying for the last three months.

The Junior Acharya will take part in the ongoing Sri Rama Navami pooja and is also expected to stay at Kalavai at least till the completion of the pooja on 18th April. Earlier, the Junior Acharya was given the traditional ‘Poorna Kumbha’ welcome by the public as soon as the Acharya entered Kalavai.

The administrators of the Kalavai Shankara Mutt announced the Junior Acharya’s decision to stay at Kalavai with his Guru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. Now that both the Acharyas are going to stay at Kalavai, security has been tightened and extra police personnel have also been pressed into service at the Shankara Mutt in Kalavai.
