News round up: Additional points presented in the Tamil Media of the Ravi Subramanian cross examination
http://www.dailythanthi.com and http://www.dinamani.com• During the cross examination conducted by lawyer Varatharajan representing Sri Sundaresa Iyer, Ravi accepted the fact that there was a previous animosity between him and Sri Sundaresa Iyer. During the cross examination, lawyer Varatharajan asked Ravi Subramaniam the question: “Was Sundaresa Iyer instrumental in the canceling the contract that you were given for construction of Shankara school in Thirivotriyur?” Ravi Subramaniam answered in affirmative. Ravi also alleged that Sri Sundaresa Iyer was bent on spoiling his contractor’s job by making sure that he doesn’t get any contracts.
• When Ravi Subramaniam was pointedly asked about the dates of the alleged payments of 5 lakhs and 20 lakhs by the Kanchi Mutt by the defense lawyer Varatharajan, he initially said that he did not know the dates. Soon he corrected himself and said that they were given towards the end of October.
• The lawyers of Appu and Kathiravan were not able to do the cross examination of Ravi Subramaniam. Since they were not given copies of all the documents related to the case, they were unable to do a thorough cross examination, they complained. However, Judge Uttamaraj did not pay much attention to their complaints.
