Vasantha Navarathri pooja starts at Kalavai Shankara Mutt

Kalavai, April 10th:

The Vasantha Navarathri pooja has started in the Kalavai Shankara Mutt under the guidance of the Kanchi Acharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal on the day of Telugu New Year day (Ugathi).

The Goo pooja [Pooja for the Cow] was conducted yesterday early morning. Soon after that, the Trikaala pooja for Lord Chandra Moulishwarar and Tripura Sundari Amman was conducted. Ramakrishna Deekshathar of Kanchipuram read the ‘Panchangam’ while the Acharya conducted the Trikaala pooja.

Later, the Vasantha Navarathri pooja started under the guidance of the Acharya. Special Homam was also conducted under the supervision of the Acharya on account of Telugu New Year. More than 40 Vedic Pundits took part in it and conducted Veda Parayanam.

The Vasantha Navarathri pooja is done every year on the day after Amavasya [new moon] day in the month of Panguni. The pooja will take place for 9 days [till 17th April] daily from morning 9.00 am to 12.30 pm. On the last day of the pooja [17th April], Sri Rama Navami procession will be conducted.
